Getting to Moggiona

Flying

Major airlines including Easyjet, Ryanair and British Airways offer inexpensive flights from the UK to Italy.

We suggest you fly to:

  • Pisa (2-2½ hours' drive from Moggiona)
  • Bologna (2½-3 hours' drive)
  • Forli (2½-3 hours' drive)
  • Rome (3-3½ hours' drive)
  • Florence (1½ hours' drive, but not served by major airlines)

Train

There is a TGV service between Paris and Milan, which, combined with Eurostar, can dramatically cut journey times. Alternatively, various sleeper trains run all year round between Paris and various Italian cities.

Arezzo (the nearest main line station to Moggiona) is on the Rome-Florence line, and many intercity trains stop there.

Car hire

It is almost essential to have a car when staying in Moggiona, as buses to the nearest town Poppi are infrequent.

We recommend you hire a car at the airport. Alternatively, there is an Avis car hire office just opposite the train station in Arezzo.
